2.5 Paint Correction & Polishing Services

Paint correction services involve machine polishing to reduce the appearance of paint defects such as swirl marks, oxidation, and light scratches.

Customer acknowledges and agrees that:

  • Paint correction is not repainting and cannot guarantee 100% defect removal
  • Results vary based on paint condition, thickness, and prior damage
  • Some defects may be too deep to safely remove

Correction levels are estimated improvements, not guarantees:

  • Moderate Correction: ~50-70% defect reduction
  • High Correction: ~70-90% defect reduction
  • Max Correction: ~90-95%+ defect reduction (where safely possible)

Customer understands machine polishing carries inherent risks, including:

  • Clear coat thinning
  • Burn-through on compromised or repainted panels
  • Increased visibility of hidden or prior damage

Paint correction is a cosmetic improvement service with limitations.

3. Maintenance Program (Elite Required First)

DC Detailing offers Maintenance Services only for customers who have received an Elite Detail to establish a proper protection baseline.

Maintenance appointments are designed for faster upkeep, continued protection, and consistent vehicle appearance.

Maintenance frequency options may include: Weekly, Bi-Weekly, Monthly, or Bi-Monthly.

Maintenance pricing is provided separately and may change over time.

4. Special Services & Add-Ons

Additional services may be added at booking or assessed during service, including:

  • Leather Conditioning
  • Excessive Pet Hair Removal
  • Headlight Restoration
  • Exterior Trim Restoration
  • Stain Removal (varies)
  • Engine Bay Cleaning

Add-ons require additional time and cost.

5. Vehicle Size & Oversized Quote Policy

Oversized vehicles (large trucks, lifted vehicles, vans, specialty vehicles) may require additional labor, additional product usage, and custom pricing.

Oversized services may require a quote before confirmation.

6. Customer Responsibilities (Before Service)

Customer agrees to:

  • Remove valuables and personal items before service
  • Inform DC Detailing of sensitive areas or prior damage
  • Provide safe access to the vehicle and service location

DC Detailing is not responsible for personal items left inside the vehicle.

7. Pre-Existing Damage & Vehicle Condition

Customer understands detailing may reveal or make more noticeable:

  • Scratches
  • Paint defects
  • Rock chips
  • Interior wear
  • Previous repair work

DC Detailing is not responsible for pre-existing conditions. Severely neglected vehicles may require additional charges or refusal of service.

8. Results Disclaimer (No Guarantee of Perfection)

Detailing is not a perfect restoration process. Customer acknowledges:

  • Deep scratches may not be removable
  • Permanent stains may not fully come out
  • Oxidation or clear coat failure cannot be reversed
  • Results vary based on vehicle condition

9. Engine Bay Cleaning Disclaimer

Engine bay cleaning involves working near sensitive electrical and mechanical components. DC Detailing uses professional precautions, including covering sensitive areas such as alternators, batteries, and exposed wiring.

However, Customer acknowledges:

  • Older vehicles and aftermarket modifications increase risk
  • Pre-existing electrical/mechanical issues may worsen regardless of precautions
  • Engine bay cleaning is performed at Customer request and assumed risk

10. Vehicle Custody, Control & Movement

Customer acknowledges DC Detailing may have temporary care, custody, and control of the vehicle during service. This may include moving the vehicle short distances on-site (into/out of garage or service bay).

DC Detailing does not operate customer vehicles on public roads or provide road testing. Overnight storage is not typical and will only occur if absolutely necessary and communicated in advance.

11. Appointment Deposits, Cancellations & No-Shows

Deposits may be required for oversized vehicles, multi-service bookings, paint correction, and high-demand dates.

Cancellation Policy:

  • Must cancel at least 24 hours in advance
  • Same-day cancellations or no-shows may result in a fee
  • Deposits are non-refundable within 24 hours of the appointment

12. Payment Policy

Payment is due immediately upon completion of service unless otherwise agreed.

Unpaid balances may result in additional fees, refusal of future service, or collection action if necessary.

13. Liability Limitation

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DC Detailing's liability for any claim, loss, or damage shall be limited to the amount paid for the service performed.

DC Detailing is not responsible for pre-existing damage, manufacturer paint defects, improper prior repairs, or normal wear and tear.

DC Detailing remains responsible for damage caused directly by proven negligence during service.

14. Indemnification

Customer agrees not to hold DC Detailing liable for damages arising from unsafe vehicle conditions, undisclosed prior damage, or customer-provided products or instructions.

15. Right to Refuse or Stop Service

DC Detailing reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service for:

  • Unsafe environments
  • Biohazards or extreme contamination
  • Aggressive or inappropriate customer behavior
  • Conditions beyond normal detailing scope

16. Photo & Video Marketing Release

Unless requested otherwise, Customer grants DC Detailing permission to photograph or video the vehicle before, during, and after service for marketing and promotional purposes.

No personal information or license plates will be intentionally displayed.

17. Dispute Resolution & Venue (Hudson, NC)

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina.

Customer agrees any dispute shall be handled exclusively in the appropriate courts located in Caldwell County, near Hudson, NC.

Both parties agree to attempt good-faith resolution before legal action.
